We appreciate feedback!

This is what some of our students have said:

'I look forward to these sessions, it's the only time in my week for me, some peace, quiet and space'

'I'm not creative, I struggled putting myself out there, but I am truly proud of what I've made in this studio'

'Chan explained everything clearly, she is a good teacher, is patient and inspiring'

Some exciting news 18-8-26

A warm hello to our followers older and newer....I'm  Chantal and I've been teaching glass fusing at our studio for the past 4 years.  However some change is a foot as we move teaching premises to GRIT studio Kingston House, Kingston Road, Stockport SK3 0EA from September 2026.   We are super excited to be in such a creative space with other artists and makers and we know you will love it there too.  It is a bright, airy and welcoming space, feedback from students has been really positive.

Building on the success of last year we have lots of interesting workshops for you to get involved with including our new style willow chandelier wreath, jewelry making, pot melting and starting in November festive glass making.  Our 6 week courses are really popular, we have TWO spaces free for  Monday evening 7th Sept 7pm and ONE space free Friday morning 4th Sept at 10.30am courses. And a gentle reminder that our gift vouchers make lovely gifts, message us to buy these*********

See you in a class sometime soon,  Chan

My Story

In 2022 I left a career spanning more than twenty-five years working in safeguarding. It was a job that I loved but increasingly I craved creativity.   I’m a mum to a teen and when I became a carer overnight to my own mum, I knew I needed to make big changes in order to manage my family commitments and find a balance.

In addition to my ‘proper’ job for the past 20 years I have been learning how to make glass, training with Liquid Glass, The Glass Hub, Bill Swan and Exempler Glass.  Making and creating has always been my ‘happy place’, something I have felt totally immersed in, a space to nourish the soul and soothe my mind.

I’ve seen first had the benefits of getting people together - sharing stories, making connections, whilst engaging in creative activities to calm, relax and restore emotional & physical wellbeing.  Opening the studio, using my passion for glass making & teaching, was calling out to me!  I opened my studio last year with an aim to create a fun, inspiring and peaceful learning experience, working with adults, kids, home educated young people and workplaces.

I have loved every minute of teaching and meeting you all.  It’s been a remarkable couple of years running the studio. My aspirations have been bold, a mix of joy and the anxiety of running a new business felt in equal measures.  I am learning something new every day and have not looked back.

What we do

It is important to us to provide creative, inspiring and value for money glass making experiences.

Our workshops & classes are suitable for beginners & improvers.

Each session starts with some glass H&S, we then guide you through the process of breaking glass, layering Bullseye transparent & opal pieces, making copper inclusions whilst using decorative frit and stringers.

Class sizes are small to allow for some one to one time with myself.

These now take place at GRIT studios Kingston House Stockport and also at various locations in the community.

We offer workshops from 1.5 - 4 hours in duration, courses, kids holiday workshops, family sessions, Mother's & Father's Day workshops, One to One tuition, Christmas workshops, classes for Home Ed'd young people, Wellbeing in the Workplace sessions, classes in schools and glass making for Duke of Edinburgh young people.  We also provide workshops for children's birthday parties and more recently hen do's!
